n 1957 Rasmus Manley was born in Copenhagen. He was educated as a joiner and worked in Copenhagen and for a short period in the Faroe Islands, before he travelled to England to begin his education as a harpsichord maker.
Rasmus Manley has studied at the London College of Furniture (1989 -1991) and afterwards served his apprenticeship with an established English harpsichord maker. Since returning to Denmark, Rasmus Manley has worked with making new instruments and repairing older harpsichords. He combines this with renting out harpsichords and small organs for classical music concerts.
Clients include: The Royal Danish Theatre, Tivoli and Zealand's Symphony Orchestra plus other national and international ensembles.

Rasmus Manley has delivered instruments amongst others to The Royal Danish Academy of Music (Copenhagen, DK), North Jutland Academy of Music (Aalborg, DK), West Jutland Academy of Music (Esbjerg, DK), various churches, to private customers and for export.

Rasmus Manley has received many awards, e.g. Jørgen Esmers Memorial Foundation, Craftsman Counsel, Glass trader Johan Franz Ronges Foundation and most recently from Elin and Peter Ove Christensens Foundation.

In 2003 Rasmus Manley received a medal in the Craftsman Prize (established 1879).
